The sandpaper (4) is fixed by Velcro fastening.

Simply pull off the sanding paper

Press the new one onto the centre of the sand-sole (5)

Coarse sand-paper (grain 60) removes in general the bigger part of the material and fine
sand-paper (grain 120) is used for finishing.

Replacing the sand-sole

The sole has to be replaced when the Velcro has worn out. Please contact your Powercraft
service point for spare parts: UK Help Line: 0870 - 7323023 / IRELAND Help Line: 1800-
481005

Before replacing the sand-sole disconnect the sander from the mains.

Remove the sandpaper from the sole.

Remove the screws which fix the sole to the sander.

Remove the sole.

Install the new sole on the sander.

Tighten the screws in the sand-sole.

Operation

Hold the sander with the handle (2), to gain the best possible control over your sanding
operations.

The ventilating apertures (3) on the housing must remain uncovered to ensure optimum
cooling of the motor.

Push the on/off switch (1) to start the machine.

Move the sander over the surface of your workpiece.

Push the on/off switch to stop the machine.

Prevent putting too much pressure on the machine during sanding. Excessive
sanding pressure does not lead to increased sanding capacity, but increases wear
of the machine and the sandpaper.

User tips

Apply long uniform movements to the item you are sanding to obtain the best possible
results.

The quality of the surface after sanding is determined by the selected grain.

Make sure that the machine is not plugged in when carrying out maintenance work
on the motor.

f.

Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting
edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.

g.  Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc., in accordance with these instructions

and in the manner intended for the particular type of power tool, taking into account the
working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations
different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.

5) Service

a.  Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical

replacement parts. This will insure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

Specific safety instructions

Contact or inhalation of dust coming free during sanding (e.g. lead painted surfaces,
woods and metals), can endanger the health of the operator and bystanders. Always wear
the appropriate safety equipment such as a dust mask and use the dust bag during
sanding.

Check that the switch is not in the “ON” position before connecting the machine to the
mains voltage.

Always keep the mains lead away from moving parts of the machine.

Use safety glasses, especially when sanding above head hight.

Electrical safety

When using electric machines always observe the safety regulations applicable in your country
to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury. Read the following safety
instructions. Keep these instructions in a safe place!

Always check that the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.

Your machine is double insulated; therefore no earthwire is required.

When replacing old cables or plugs

Throw away old cables or plugs immediately as soon as new ones have replaced these. It is
dangerous to put the plug of a loose cable into an electrical socket.

When using extension cables

Only use an approved extension cable that is suitable for the machine’s power. The cables
must have a diameter of at least 1.5 mm

. When the extension cable is on a reel, unroll the cable

in its entirety.
