INSTALLATION ON TRACTOR
Step 1. With bumper facing forward and bars on hitch outside of
hitch blocks on tractor, slide hitch assembly onto tractor so that
studs on onside of hitch bars fit into slots on hitch blocks. At the
same time, studs on the outside of the hitch blocks will fit into slots
on ends of hitch bars.
PARTS LIST
Step 2. Insert small blank Bolt (item 9) from the outside through
the holes just behind hitch studs in upper part of hitch bars and
holes in hitch blocks. Secure with quick change key (item 10).
Step 3. Follow installation instruction in Qwner’s Manual for
attaching deck to hitch and tractor.
Step 4. Facing front of tractor with engine off, loop the drive Belt
(Item 24) over the front groove of the electromagnetic clutch on
the front of the engine. Then turn the big black Knob (Item 2)
counterclockwise enough to get the Belt under the two Pulleys
(Item 7) and around the top groove of the center Spindle (Item 1 –
Deck Parts List) on top of deck.
Step 5. Set the cutting height adjustment Lever to mower’s
highest cutting level. Turn the big black Knob until the belt on the
same side as the knob just clears (1/8”) the nose of the deck. Also
check to be sure the tension Spring (Item 17) controlling the pulley
on the other (left) side is tight with a little stretch in it. Tighten Nut
(Item 16) on tension Rod (Item 12) if necessary.
Step 6. Set the cutting height adjusting Lever to the mower’s
lowest cutting level and tighten the inner Nut on the belt tension
Rod until the tension Spring is stretched 3/8” (to an approximate
length of 3‐9/16” across the coils). Tighten the outer Nut against
the inner Nut to lock Spring at that length.
