LUBRICATION
Inspect and lubricate the tool when required. Use grease to lubricate the tool. Other
lubricants may not be suitable and could damage the tool or cause a malfunction
during use.
VIBRATOR SYSTEM LUBRICATION
The tool’s vibrator housing contains the vibrator rotary shaft that causes the base
plate to move. The vibrator housing contains extreme pressure oil to bathe the
rotary shaft during operation.
Use automatic transmission fluid to lubricate the vibrator housing.
REPLACING VIBRATOR SYSTEM OIL
1. Run tool briefly to mix and warm the oil.
2. Remove the belt guard and V-belt(s) (Fig. 10).
3. Remove the bolts that hold the deck to the housing
(Fig. 10).
4. Lift entire deck with engine from housing (Fig. 9).
5. Place a receptacle below the opening to catch the
waste oil.
6. Remove the plug on top of the vibrator housing. Tilt
the housing upside down so oil drains from the
vibrator (Fig. 11).
a. Examine oil for metal chips to determine if
further maintenance is needed.
7. Return plate housing to the upright position.
8. Fill the vibrator housing with 80 ml of gear oil API
GL-4 80W/90 or 75W/90.
9. Apply a pipe sealant to the plug and reinstall into the
vibrator housing.
10. Reattach the engine to the frame.
