2. If the generator is stored outdoors and is unprotected from the weather, check all of the
electrical components on the control panel before each use. Moisture or ice can cause a
malfunction or short circuit in the electrical components, which could result in electrocution.
3. Do not connect to a building’s electrical system unless a qualified electrician has installed an
isolation switch.
4. All maintenance and installation must be performed by a qualified service professional and
should meet the following standards:
a. Article 551 of the National Electrical Code, 70-1990 ANSVNFPA
b. The standard regarding recreational vehicles, 501 C-1990 ANSVNFPA
5. The engine and exhaust become very hot during operation. Severe thermal burns can occur
on contact, especially with the muffler.
a. Keep the generator at least 3 feet (1 meter) away from buildings and other equipment
during operation.
b. Remove accumulated debris from the muffler and cylinder area. Combustible debris,
such as leaves, grass, brush, etc., can catch fire if they come in contact with a
hot engine.
c. Do not place anything on the generator while it is running.
d. Allow the muffler, engine cylinder, and fins to cool before allowing the unit to touch
grass-covered or brush-covered unimproved land.
e. Gasoline is extremely flammable and is explosive under certain conditions. Do not
smoke or allow flames or sparks where the generator is refueled or where gasoline is
stored. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine stopped.
f. Fuel vapours are extremely flammable and may ignite after the engine has started. Make
sure that any spilled fuel has been wiped up before starting the generator.
6. Do not let children operate the generator, and do not allow anyone who is unfamiliar with the
generator to operate it without proper supervision.
7. Never remove the warning labels. Generators provide safe and dependable service if operated
according to instructions. Read and understand the owner’s manual before operating your
generator. You can help prevent accidents by being familiar.
NOTE: Safety labels warn you of potential hazards that can cause serious injury. Read them carefully.
Contact Princess Auto if a label comes off or becomes hard to read.
