Special safety directions
The plate compactor may only be used by
persons who have received a thorough
instruction in how to use the machine and
are familiar with the risks connected to
using it.
When lifting the plate compactor, always
use the lifting frame and the lifting points.
Use correct lifting technique. Only use
lifting gear with the correct load capacity.
Don’t stand under the plate compactor
when it’s lifted.
Always dispose of fuel, oil and used � lters
in accordance with the rules of your local
authority.
Always use ear protection! We also
recommend using saftey gloves.
The engine is supplied with no oil in the
motor. Remember to � ll with engine oil (SAE
10W-30) before use!
The motor uses unleaded fuel. You should
therefore never put leaded petrol, diesel,
paraffi n oil or other fuels in the tank.
Store petrol out of the reach of children and
in a clearly marked, approved container.
Wipe up any spilt petrol with a dry rag after
� lling with fuel.
Smoking and the use of naked � ames
during fuelling should be avoided.
Never � ll up with petrol or motor oil when
the motor is running.
Do not over� ll with petrol or oil, as this may
cause a � re hazard.
Store � ammable materials at a safe distance
from the motor, as the exhaust gases are
very hot and may ignite such materials.
Never use indoors. The exhaust
gases contain carbon monoxide and
hydrocarbons that are hazardous to humans
and animals if inhaled.
Never start the machine without the air
� lter in place.
Avoid running the engine at speeds above
the factory-set maximum, as this could
cause damage to the motor and personal
injury.
Never touch engine components during
or immediately after use. They may be very
hot.
Keep hands and feet well clear of moving
and rotating parts.
Never touch the drive belt when the engine
is running.
Do not use on steep slopes where the
machine may tip over or run out of control.
Make sure that the vibrations cannot cause
a landslip, which may pose a danger to
others.
Do not run the plate compactor over
electrical cables, telephone wires or other
installations that may be damaged by the
vibrations.
Always follow the motor maintenance
instructions under “Cleaning and
Maintenance”.
