Never allow the disc to be in contact with the item
to be worked - or other objects - when starting the
grinder.
Never place your hand or fingers near the disc
while the grinder is running.
Keep the power cable well clear of the working
area.
Keep the handles and the grinder as a whole free of
oil, grease, water and other liquids.
Never depress the spindle lock while the disc is
rotating!
Never put the grinder down until the disc has
completely stopped rotating.
Do not touch the item to be worked or metal
filings until they have cooled.
Grinding/cutting
Fitting a disc
Press the spindle lock, turn the grinder upside
down and remove the outer flange using the
wrench provided.
Fit the desired disc on the spindle and replace the
outer flange.
Release the spindle lock.
Loosen the screw on the disc shield (6), and adjust
the shield to the required angle. The shield must
be positioned to protect the user if the disc
shatters during use. Retighten the screw.
Check that the spindle lock is not locked and that
the disc can freely rotate.
Switch the grinder on using the on/off button, and
let it run for 30 seconds to check that it is
working correctly and that there are no abnormal
vibrations. Stop the grinder immediately if heavy
vibration occurs, and investigate the cause.
Use
Hold the grinder body and side handle firmly and
switch on. Avoid blocking the ventilation slots
with your hand, as this may cause the grinder to
overheat. Set speed using speed selector.
Apply the grinder to the item. Maximum effect is
achieved when the grinder is held at an angle of
15-30° in relation to the item.
Move the grinder gently along the item. Give the
grinder time to work. It is rarely necessary to press
the disc hard against the surface to be worked.
