Selecting and Playing Songs

51

3

Start the selected song.

Press the [START/STOP] button.  As the song plays back, the measure num-
ber and chords are shown in the display.

4

Stop the song.

Press the [START/STOP] button.  If playback was started by pressing the
[START/STOP] button, the selected song stops automatically.

A-B Repeat

The convenient A-B Repeat function is an ideal aid for practicing and learning.  It
allows you to specify a phrase of a song (between point A and point B) and repeat
it — while you play or practice along with it.

1

While playing a song, set point A (the start point).

During playback, press the [A-B REPEAT] button once, at the beginning
point to be repeated.

2

Set point B (the end point).

As the song continues playing, press the [A-B REPEAT] button once again,
at the ending point to be repeated.  The selected phrase repeats indefinitely
until stopped.

•  You can play along with the song

using the currently selected
voice, or even select a different
voice for playing along.  Simply
call up the Voice mode while the
song is playing back and select
the desired voice. (See page 23.)

REPEAT

A-

•  The A and B points can only be

specified at the beginning of a
measure (beat 1), and not at any
point in the middle of a measure.

•  If you’re repeat practicing a par-

ticularly difficult section, try slow-
ing down the Tempo to an
appropriate speed to make it eas-
ier to play and master the part.
You may also want to slow down
the Tempo while setting the A
and B points; this makes it easier
to accurately set the points.

•  You can also set the A-B Repeat

function when the song is
stopped.  Simply use the
[

REW] and [

FF] buttons to

select the desired measures,
pressing the [A-B REPEAT] but-
ton for each point, then start play-
back.

•  To set the A point to the begin-

ning of a song, press the [A-B
REPEAT] button before starting
playback.
