Impaired speech
recognition
Your voice can change in stressful situations. This
could prevent the desired telephone connection
from being established or from being established
fast enough.
e Do not use voice control in an emergency.
e Enter the emergency number via the touch
display.
Numerous Media, Phone, Navigation functions, A/C
settings as well as and Apps can be activated via
voice commands. The voice control function adapts
to the speaker and learns from the very first dialog.
On-board and Online voice recognition functions

are linked seamlessly in the voice control system.
The voice control function does not support all sys-
tem languages.

Starting voice control

Ignition is switched on.
b b There must be no active phone call.
b b ParkAssist not active.
1. Briefly press the button on the steering
wheel.
A rising acoustic signal is heard and the symbol
for voice control appears on the PCM.
2. Say the voice command.
Ending voice control
b b Voice control is active.
e Press the button on the steering wheel.
A descending signal tone sounds.
Information
The dialog can be paused by tapping on the micro-
phone symbol
and started again by tapping
again.
Further voice control button functions
The button on the steering wheel can activate
different functions, depending on the application:
– Skips a running announcement when pressed
briefly.
– Interrupts the current dialog when pressed
briefly.
– Activated by pressing and holding Siri voice
recognition.

Information
– Navigation and traffic notices are not issued
during a dialog.
– With voice control active, list entries can be se-
lected using voice control, the rotary push button
or the touch display.
– If the spoken voice command is not understood
or if it cannot be interpreted, voice control re-
sponds with the question Excuse me? and the
voice command can be repeated after that.
Interrupting voice control
Voice control can be interrupted in order to say other
voice commands. Activating/deactivating voice
control interruption in the PCM:

Select SET

e
Voice
control e Interrupt voice control .
Using Porsche Connect services in the voice
control system

Data connection is established successfully.

– Online search when entering navigation destina-
tions and Portal List POIs or other point of inter-
est categories from My Porsche.
– Dictate online language search as well as text
messages/e-mails.
Notes on communication using voice control
Note the following points when using voice control:
– Speak clearly and at a normal volume.
