Function
The rollover bar system is installed behind the rear
seats and is extended within fractions of a second in
conditions where there is a risk of rollover. This
generates a loud noise. If necessary, the safetybelt
pretensioners for the front seats are activated.

The rollover bar system consists of two extendable
assemblies which, together with the windshield
frame, help maintain the space around all occupants
if the vehicle rolls over.
DANGER
Malfunctions caused by
tampering with the roll-
over bar system
Tampering with the rollover bar system or impeding
its movement can cause malfunctions resulting in
serious injury or death. A rollover bar system that has
been tampered with offers no protection. It may not
deploy, or may deploy in an uncontrolled manner.
e Do not make any changes to the cabling and
components of the rollover bar system.
e Do not place body parts or objects in the move-
ment space of the extendable assemblies.
e Do not open the covers of the extendable
assemblies.
e Make sure that no water or cleaning agents get
into the rollover bar system during cleaning of
the vehicle.
NOTICE
Risk of damage to the convertible top and rollover
bar system when opening and closing the
convertible top.
The rollover bar system will disrupt the movement
sequence of the convertible top when extended.
e Do not open or close the convertible top when
the rollover bar system is extended.
Information
The rollover bar system may break the rear window if
it deploys when the convertible top is closed.
Reacting to the warning light
Faults in the rollover bar system are indicated by the
red
airbag warning light in the instrument clus-
ter. The functionality of the rollover bar system is not
guaranteed.
e Have faults rectified immediately.
e Visit an authorized Porsche dealer. Porsche rec-
ommends an authorized Porsche dealer, as they
have trained technicians and the necessary parts
and tools.
Deployed rollover bar system
e
Never push the extendable assemblies back into
their initial position yourself. Extendible cas-
settes do not stay in the lower position and
spring back.
e Visit an authorized Porsche dealer. Porsche rec-
ommends an authorized Porsche dealer, as they
have trained technicians and the necessary parts
and tools.
