General safety instructions
WARNING
Inattentive maneuvering
or pulling out
The system must not induce you to take risks with
your safety. The driver is still responsible for taking
due care when pulling out and when assessing ob-
stacles. The system is no substitute for the driver's
attentiveness.

Drive with extreme care.

Always check the traffic situation and the area
around the vehicle.

System limitations
Vehicles cannot or may not be detected in time in
the following situations:
– The vehicle is parked next to vehicles that pro-
trude out very far toward the rear.
– Crossing road users approach extremely quickly.
– If the rear bumper is dirty.
Functions
Rear Cross Traffic Alert monitors the area behind the
vehicle and warns of any road users (e.g. passenger
vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, pedestrians) cross-
ing behind the vehicle when the driver is backing out.

The system is available subject to the following
prerequisites:

Rear Cross Traffic Alert switched on.
b b Porsche Stability Management (PSM) switched
on.
b b
Transmission range R selected.
b b Vehicle speed is less than approx.
10 mph (15 km/h).
When reverse gear is engaged, arrows appear on the
PCM to make the driver aware of approaching road
users crossing the vehicle's path. Visual and acoustic
signals warn of the potential hazardous situation. If
the driver does not respond to the warning, the sys-
tem performs a brief warning jolt to alert the driver
to the impending collision hazard.

on and off

After the vehicle is switched off, the status of the
system is stored in the selected account and paired
with the vehicle key used.
