Cruise Control
Cruise control maintains the chosen speed in the
range between approx. 20–150 mph
(30–240 km/h) without the driver having to press
the accelerator pedal.

Maintaining and storing the speed
1.
Accelerate or decelerate to the desired speed
using the accelerator pedal.

Press the control lever on the steering wheel
forward (setting

Changing the speed
e
To increase the speed, push the control lever on
the steering wheel forward (Fig. 61,
1
).
Brief press = 1 mph (1 km/h),
press and hold = 5 mph (10 km/h)
e
To reduce the speed, pull the control lever toward
the steering wheel (Fig. 61,
2
).
Brief touch = approx. 1 mph (1 km/h),
pull and hold = approx. 5 mph (10 km/h)
The newly set desired speed is shown on the
multifunction display.
Interrupting cruise control opera-
tion – OFF
The speed driven before the interruption remains
stored in the memory and can be resumed by
pressing the control lever.

Information
Active braking interventions are automatically
performed to be able to better maintain the prese-
lected speed (especially when driving downhill).
WARNING
Unsafe Traffic Situations
and unfavorable Road
Conditions
Using cruise control can lead to an accident if the
prevailing traffic situation does not allow you to drive
at a sufficient distance and constant speed.
e
Do not use cruise control in heavy traffic, on
windy stretches of road or in treacherous condi-
tions (e.g. wintery conditions, wet roads, varying
road surfaces).
e
Observe all local and national speed limits.
e
Do not reach through the steering-wheel spokes
while driving.
Information
On upward or downward slopes, the set speed cannot
always be maintained by cruise control.
e
To obtain sufficient engine braking or a better rev
range, you therefore have to change down to a
lower gear
Cruise control readiness
The gray symbol on the multifunction
display indicates readiness.
Desired speed
The speed currently being driven is
displayed under the cruise control symbol,
which has now turned orange, and
automatically maintained.
Information
The speed can be increased using the accelerator
pedal as usual. This does not change the stored value;
it is resumed after the pedal is released.
