Wiper blades
Caring for wiper blades
Wiper blades in perfect condition are vital for
ensuring a clear view.
e
Clean the windshield regularly using a window
cleaner (Please see chapter „Cleaning windows“
on page 61), especially after washing the vehicle
in a car wash.
Porsche recommends car care products from
Porsche Tequipment.
e
Clean the windshield using a sponge or cloth if it
is very dirty (e.g. insect remains).
Replacing wiper blades

The wiper blades should be replaced twice per year
(before and after the cold season) or if wiper perfor-
mance deteriorates or the wipers are damaged.

Ignition switched off.
1. Press the wiper lever downward (Fig. 228, 1 )
once.
The wipers move upward through approx. 45°.
2. Change the wiper blades in accordance with the
separate installation instructions provided by the
manufacturer. Pay attention to the varying length
of the wiper blades.
NOTICE
Risk of damage to the windshield due to uninten-
tional folding back of the wiper arm.

Always hold the wiper arm securely when
replacing wiper blades.
NOTICE
The wiper blades can freeze at low temperatures.
e
Thaw and release frozen wiper blades before
driving.
NOTICE
The graphite coating on the wiper blades can be
damaged if they are not cleaned properly.
e
Ensure that the cleaning jet does not hit the wiper
blades.
e
Do not clean wiper blades with a cloth or sponge.
e
Clean wiper blades with clear water only .
NOTICE
If the wiper blades are not changed properly, they can
come loose when the car is moving.
e
The wiper blades must engage properly in the
wiper arm.
e
Check that the wiper blades are seated securely.

have this work carried out.
Porsche recommends an authorized Porsche dealer,
as they have trained technicians and the necessary
parts and tools.
