Switch off the ignition and press the windshield
wiper lever
4 downward once.
The windshield wipers move upward through
approx. 45°.
WARNING
Unintentional Wiping
In rain sensor mode, the windshield wipes can start
wiping unintentionally when switched on.
e
Always switch off windshield wipers before
cleaning the windshield to avoid unintentional
operation (rain sensor operation).
NOTICE
Danger of damage to the windshield, rear screen and
wiper system.
e
Only wipe windows when sufficiently wet, other-
wise it could become scratched
e
Loosen frozen windshield wipers before starting
to drive.
e
Do not operate a frozen headlight cleaning
system.
e
Always switch off windshield wipers in car
washes to prevent them from wiping uninten-
tionally (rain sensor mode).
e
Do not operate the headlight cleaning system in
car washes.
e
Always hold the wiper arm securely when
replacing wiper blades.
e
Pay attention to the varying length of wiper
blades when replacing them.
0 Windshield wipers off
When the windshield wipers and the ignition are
switched off, the wipers move up slightly from
their rest position so that the wiping edges are
aligned correctly.
1 Windshield wiper rain sensor/intermittent
operation
e
Move wiper lever upward to the first detent.
2 Windshield wipers slow
e
Move wiper lever upward to the second
detent.
3 Windshield wipers fast
e
Move wiper lever upward to the third detent.
4 Windshield wipers - one-touch operation
e
Move wiper lever downward.
The windshield wipers carry out one wiping
cycle.
5 Windshield wiper and washer system
e
Pull wiper lever toward the steering wheel.
The washer system wipes and sprays while
the lever is pulled toward the steering
wheel.
When the wiper lever is released, a few
drying wipes are performed.
After every 10 wipes of the windshield, the
headlights are cleaned automatically.

If windshield is very dirty, repeat wash.
e
Persistent dirt (e.g. insect remains) should be
removed regularly.
