f) Ignition final stage control signal test 

 

Connect DME control unit plug. 

 

Connect oscilloscope's positive tester lead 

on terminal 5 and negative tester lead on 

terminal 2 of the disconnected final stage 

plug. 

 

 

 

 

Operate starter motor. 

Oscilloscope should display the control 

signal of the DME control unit. 

 

 

 

       

Very important: 

 

Coat the baseplate with a heat conducting 

paste prior to installation of the ignition final 

stage. Keep heat conducting paste off of 

painted parts.
