MAINTENANCE
Your PondMAX vacuum requires very little maintenance.
However the container, foam intake filter and waste filter
bag should periodically be rinsed to rid of lingering sludge
or debris. Occasional inspection of the hoses is also
recommended.
• Always switch off the vacuum cleaner at the main
switch and unplug cable from power source, before any
maintenance is performed.
• Remove all hoses and the motor head from container.
• Rinse the container with a garden hose until all sludge or
debris has been removed.
• Pull the foam intake filter and waste filter bag off. Rinse
with garden hose until all sludge or debris has been
removed.
• While the intake filter is off, always inspect the float for
free movement.
• Once the vacuum and components are clean, put the
vacuum back together inspecting the hoses and suction
poles carefully for possible damage.
OPERATION IN WET APPLICATION
• Set up the vacuum as near to the pond or waterfeature
as possible. Make sure the vacuum is standing firmly to
prevent tipping.
• ATTENTION:
The vacuum is designed to be positioned
above the water level during operation, to assure proper
drain function.
• Position the end of the discharge hose in such a manner
that the discharged water is diverted to a remote
location, away from pond (e.g. garden, flower bed). Lay
the discharge hose flat on the ground (or if possible with
a slight incline downward).
• Make sure that the waste filter bag is fastened securely to
the end of the discharge hose so that large particles are
contained.
• Connect the vacuum power cable to the main power
source.
• Insert one of the supplied nozzles into the end of the
suction hose/poles.
• Power on the vacuum at the main switch on the
motor head, using the “II” switch setting. This setting
automatically cycles the fill/drain system. Vacuum has an
initial 10 second delay before motor starts, 50 second
suction time and 50 second emptying time. The motor
will then shut off for 50 seconds and will repeat cycle.
• While vacuum is running, apply vacuum directly to debris
using slow and even movements. Keep the vacuum
hose below waist level for best performance. When the
vacuum container has reached its maximum liquid level,
the vacuum will stop sucking automatically. The one way
flapper at the end of the discharge hose will open and
the debris will exit the vacuum container until empty.
Operation from this point on depends on the switch
setting used,
• When operation is complete turn off power at the main
switch, by positioning switch between the 2 different
settings on the “O” setting.
OPERATION IN DRY APPLICATION
• Set up the vacuum as near as possible to where vacuum
will be used. Make sure the vacuum is standing firmly to
prevent tipping.
• Loosen and disconnect the vacuum container clamps and
remove motor head. Install paper dust bag (reference 13)
firmly onto the suction port on the inside of the container.
Reinstall the motor head and tighten clamps.
• Connect the vacuum power cable to the main power
source.
• Insert one of the supplied nozzles into the end of the
suction hose/poles.
• Power on the vacuum at the main switch on the motor
head, using the “I” switch setting. This setting allows for
basic manual on/off function for vacuum.
• While operating vacuum, use slow and even movements
back and forth.
• When operation is complete turn off power at the main
switch, by positioning switch between the 2 different
settings.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
To guard against injury, basic safety precautions should be observed
including, but not limited to:
• Do not operate the vacuum while standing in water or while
anyone else is in the water.
• Before reaching into the water always unplug all devices located
in the water.
• Only operate the device from an outlet that has been installed in
accordance with this manual.
• Compare supply voltage (V) and supply frequency (Hz) of your
power source with the specifications pertaining to the vacuum. This
info must agree with each other.
• Ensure that the device is protected via a residual current protective
circuit. Please consult a certified licensed electrician if you are not
sure about this.
• For safety, plug the vacuum into an electrical outlet with a (GCFI)
Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter.
• Do not carry or pull the device by the power cable at any time.
• Keep the power cable plug and all other connection points dry.
• The device may not be operated if power cable or motor head is
defective or appears damaged.
WARNING
• Never use the vacuum without the foam intake filter.
• The device may not be used for commercial purposes.
• Never make technical alterations to the device.
• Only use original replacement parts and accessories
