2. Description
The Polytron multiswitch series GREEN LINE is used for the economical distribution of 4, 8, 12 or 16 SAT IF
polarisations and terrestrial signals.
The cascadable multiswitches
PSG xxx C
extend the possible number of subscribers/receivers provided with the
processed signals.
The number of cascadable units depends on the LNB-output level and the length of the cables. By using a
PSG xxx AMP
line amplifier, the number of cascade switches and thus the subscriber connections can be
expanded. If necessary, an external power supply can be connected to the cascade multiswitch and the trunk lines
can be supplied with power.
The stand-alone multiswitches
PSG xxx Q
are equipped with a power supply to feed the LNBs. The power supply
provides a supply voltage of 18 V=. The types PSG 5xx Q and PSG 9xx Q are additionally equipped with a 22 kHz
generator and therefore suitable for Quad-LNBs.
A stand-alone multiswitch or a cascade multiswitch can be connected at the end of a cascade system. If a cascade
multiswitch is used at the end of a cascade system, the trunk outputs must be terminated with a DC blocked terminal
resistor (FAW-75DC)!
The subscribers can receive all programs on the transponders with a standard DVB-S/S2 Receiver or TV set with
integrated DVB-S/S2 tuner. It is not relevant whether the individual programs are broadcast in HDTV, as Pay-TV or
as free-to-air signals.

3. Mounting
Firstly, please read the mounting and safety instructions in section 1. The installation of the receiving system must
be done in accordance with the standard IEC 60728-11. That ensures the safety of personnel and prevents
equipment damage by lightning or other sources of overvoltage. The multiswitches must be mounted vertically on a
non-flammable wall with the SAT input sockets facing up. Steel screws are required for fastening. The screws are
not included in delivery. The multisitches must have at least 10 cm clearance from the top, front and bottom after
installation. The installation slots should be not covered by objects. Otherwise, ventilation of the device will be
impaired and may cause damage. Connect all necessary RF cables with the appropriate inputs and/or outputs. Do
not connect the power supplies of the multiswitches or line amplifiers to the mains until all cables are fully connected
to the multiswitches or line amplifiers.
