4 Measuring
6. Make a measurement as described in your software manual.
On the basis of this measurement you can estimate the size of
measurement inaccuracies in later measurements, if you were not
considered about them.
7. Save this measurement under a name of your choice.
This measurement later serves as a reference measurement.
8. Now position your object as described for the parallel plate in step 1 to
9. Make again a measurement as described in your software manual.
10. Subtract the reference measurement you made earlier from this
measurement as described in your software manual under

.
This means that the measurement inaccuracies, which have occurred
due to the reference filter being exchanged, have been compensated
for.

Reference Filter Exchange
With the reference filter you can adjust the intensity of the reference beam to
the intensity of the light scattered back from the object. Depending on the
application, you have the following reference filters to choose from:
•
TMS-A-301 (neutral filter with 100% transmission)
•
TMS-A-302 (filter with 12% transmission)
•
TMS-A-303 (neutral filter with 2.5% transmission)
•
TMS-A-304 (neutral filter with 0.15% transmission)
