• Connect the iron to the monobloc plug (
B2
)
proceeding as shown in the “Operation”
paragraph.
Check the manufacturer’s label on the gar-
ment, and interpret the symbol on the label as
follows:
• For
STEAM
ironing, set the iron temperature
to its maximum travel on the “COTTON - LI-
NEN” steam position by turning the knob
(
W4
).
NB Set at its maximum, do NOT set
against the picture of iron on the knob
(W4)
.
Most fabric types, other than delicates can
be STEAM-ironed at this temperature,
please consult the garment label. If you want
to DRY iron, set the knob (
W4
) to the requi-
red temperature for the fabric as, shown on
the dial.
Nb fabric indications on dial are for DRY
ironing, for STEAM ironing set at maxi-
mum travel as explained above.
• Wait for a few minutes until the Iron heating”
indicator light (
W3
) goes out, to show that
the soleplate of the iron has reached the re-
quired temperature.
• Press the steam request button (
W2
)
on the
iron to release bursts of steam from the
holes on the soleplate. Release the button
and the steam will stop.
When you first start
to use the iron, a few drops of water may
come out of the sole-plate mixed with the
steam due to imperfect heat stabilisation. It is
therefore advisable to direct the first jet of
steam onto a rag.
• In order to obtain a continuous jet of steam
move the sliding switch (
W1
). The steam will
continue to come out even when the steam
request button (
W2
) is released. To stop the
flow of steam push the sliding switch back-
wards (
W1
).
RECOMMENDED TECHNIQUE
for STEAM iro-
ning with Polti iron is APPLY steam (button
W2
)
on the upstroke, then release button (
W2
) (so
no steam) for the backstroke, so reclosing the
fibres, preventing oversteaming and wetness.
DRY IRONING
• FOR DRY IRONING ONLY (NOT steam iro-
ning), press the main switch (
1
) and adjust
the temperature of the iron by turning dial
(
W4
) to the temperature required for the fa-
bric (as shown on the dial).
NOTE:
using the iron, it is advisable to adjust
the steam jet at a medium range, or to do some
Steam ironing allowed--set the dial to its
MAXIMUM travel at the end of the 3 dots
symbol on your Polti iron

THREE (nb THREE, not two) dots symbol
on your Polti iron
DRY IRON only, with iron dial set at one
