1 REMOTE BASS GAIN MODULE JACK
Accepts telephone jack input connection from the
remote bass gain module. Set GAIN (8) to max when
using the remote.
2 LOW PASS FREQUENCY ADJUSTMENT
Choose the frequency at which you want to roll off the
low frequencies in your system. Adjustable between 30
and 200Hz.
3 FREQUENCY SLOPE TOGGLE
The crossover frequency adjustment (also called a Low
Pass Filter) filters out frequencies that you don’t want the
speaker to reproduce. In this case it filters out the
midrange and high frequencies from the subwoofer. If it
is set too high, you’ll hear voices and other midrange
sounds coming from the subwoofer and the bass will
seem to come only from the rear of the vehicle. If it is set
too low, you'll miss the “kidney punch” kick of the mid-
bass. Set the control to 80Hz – 120Hz and adjust it by
ear from there.
4 BASS BOOST FREQUENCY
Set this control lower to get more volume of deep “grunt”
bass, set it higher to get more “kidney punch” kick. In
most systems right setting will fall somewhere between
30Hz and 100Hz.
5 BASS BOOST AMOUNT
This control sets how loud the bass boost will be. Set it to
taste using a wide variety of program material. MORE IS
NOT ALWAYS BETTER. Setting this control to MAX
will stress the amplifier and the speakers and may
cause damage.
6 POLK/MOMO PRE-EQ SWITCH
A one-button preset bass boost for use with Polk/MOMO
Subwoofers. This button overrides the variable bass boost
function (bass controls).
7 INPUT TYPE SELECTOR
Select the type of connections made: LOW "line" level
RCA connections, or HIGH level speaker wire connec-
tions. Default position is LOW, as the most popular head
unit output connections are RCA. To use HIGH level
speaker wire inputs, simply attach an RCA connector to
your speaker wire, and move this switch to HIGH.
8 GAIN ADJUSTMENT
Begin with gain set at about the 11o’clock position. Once
all settings are made, turn this setting up until your source
JUST BEGINS to distort, then back off slightly to cut
distortion and operate at optimum gain.
