Warranty Card

Limited Warranty:

 

C&A Licensing LLC (”C&A”) warrants this product to the original consumer only and is not 

transferable. This warranty covers products that fail to function properly

 UNDER NORMAL USAGE

, due to 

defects in material or workmanship. Your product will be repaired or replaced at no charge for parts or labor for a 

period as outlined below (the “Warranty Period”) from your date of purchase. You will be responsible for shipping 

the product to C&A or its authorized servicer for warranty support.

What is Not Covered by Warranty

All other situations, including but not limited to damages or malfunctions not resulting from defects in material or 

workmanship and damages or malfunctions from other than normal use, including but not limited to, repair by 

unauthorized parties, tampering, modification or accident.

What To Do When Service Is Required

When returning your defective product (postage pre-paid) for service, your package should include:

1. Copy of original bill of sale

2. A detailed written description of the problem

3. Your return address and telephone number (Daytime)

4. The defective product

IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SHALL

PRODUCT.  REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT IS THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY OF THE CONSUMER.  IN NO 

EVENT WILL C&A, ITS MANUFACTURERS, DISTRIBUTORS OR PLR IP HOLDINGS, LLC BE LIABLE FOR 

ANY INCIDENTAL, DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (SUCH 

AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS, SAVINGS, DATA OR 

RECORDS) RELATED TO THIS PRODUCT. EXCEPT AS STATED HEREIN, NO OTHER WARRANTIES 

SHALL APPLY.  NOTWITHSTANDING THE FOREGOING, CONSUMER’S RECOVERY AGAINST C&A 

SHALL NOT EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT SOLD BY C&A.  THIS WARRANTY 

SHALL NOT EXTEND TO ANYONE OTHER THAN THE ORIGINAL CONSUMER WHO PURCHASED THE 

PRODUCT AND IS NOT TRANSFERABLE.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or allow 

limitations on warranties, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This Warranty 

gives you specific rights, and you may have other rights, which vary from state to state.

around the seal so the grease is applied evenly.

9  Do not damage the seal when applying the grease.
10  Do not forcibly pull the seal when putting it in the mounting groove.
11  Close the waterproof housing without the camera inside.
12  Submerge the closed housing slowly in a tub, deep sink or large 

 

pail filled with clean water for about 10 seconds. Remove the 

 

housing from the water then place it underwater again for one 

 

minute. Remove it from the water then submerge it yet again for 

 

five minutes. During each submersion, operate the buttons 

 and 

dials.

13  Remove the housing from the water and wipe the exterior with a 

 

soft, dry cloth. Open the housing and inspect the interior for water. 

 

It should be dry. If water has leaked in, determine the cause by 

 

carefully repeating all of the preceding steps in this section.

NOTE:

•  When using commercially available anti-condensation products, 

 

the anti-condensation solution should be applied only to the inside 

 

surface of the lens window using a soft, dry cloth. If the solution 

 

comes in contact with any other surface, wipe it off immediately

 

as it could lead to deterioration of the waterproof housing.

•  Never clean the interior of the housing with water. Use only a 

 

clean, soft, dry, and lint-free cloth.

•  Do not allow the housing to dry in direct sunlight. This may cause 

 

discoloration of the housing and/or the water seals to degrade.

4  If attached, remove the camera’s grip belt and the optional wrist 

 or 

shoulder 

strap.

5  Turn on the camera and change the camera's settings 

 as 

necessary.

6  Check that the image stabilizer is set to “Dynamic.” Refer to 

 

advanced image stabilization in the camera's instruction manual.

7  Check that simultaneous recording is not turned off if you want 

 

to take photos with an aspect ratio of 16:9 while you record movie

 

clips. Refer to the camera’s instruction manual for procedures on 

 

taking photos while recording movies.

8  Check that the wireless controller is turned on if you want to 

 

access menus and settings while the camera is secured in the 

 

waterproof housing and not in the water. See “Wireless Remote 

 

Control” under the system setup menu in the camera's 

 instruction 

manual.

9  lf necessary, adjust the LCD's brightness. See “Adjusting the 

 

Position and Brightness of the LCD Screen in the camera's 

 instruction 

manual.

10  Turn off the camera before placing it in the waterproof housing.

NOTE:

For important details about the camera's settings and restrictions 

while the recording program is set to “underwater” or “surface”,

see the “Power/Others” sections of the specifications in the camera's 

instruction manual.

RECORDING MOVIES AND TAKING PHOTOS

After the camera is secured in the waterproof housing, you are ready 

to start recording movies and taking photos.
1  Turn on the camera. Refer to Section 6 or 7 for parts locations.

 

•  Press the "POWER" button.

 

•  The ON/OFF charge indicator on the camera will light up green.

2 Make 

recording

 

•  Press "START/STOP" to begin/end recording a movie.

 

•  Press "PHOTO" to take a photo.

 

•  Use the wrist strap and hold the waterproof housing with 

 

  both hands. (For best stability, use the 

Polaroid

 stabilizer 

 

  mount made for this waterproof housing (available from your 

 

 

Polaroid 

retailer).

CHANGING CAMERA SETTINGS WHEN SECURED IN THE 
HOUSING

While the camera is out of water and secured in the waterproof 

housing, several settings can only be accessed using the camera's 

wireless controller. Make sure your hands are dry when you use the 

wireless controller.
1  To switch between recording and playback mode, Press and hold 

 

“K” on the wireless controller for more than two seconds.

2  To switch the recording program between “Underwater” and 

 “Surface”, turn on the camera while holding down the “PHOTO” 

 button.

STORING THE WATERPROOF HOUSING

1  Keep the waterproof housing open when storing it. This will 

 

prevent the waterproof seals from deforming, ensuring that the 

 

waterproof housing remains waterproof. Keep dust off by enclosing 

 

it open in a plastic bag or plastic kitchen wrap.

2  Do not store the waterproof housing in hot, cold or humid places 

 

or near substances such as naphthalene or insecticides.

3  Do not store the waterproof seals in a place in which they can 

 

accumulate dust or become scratched.

4  If you do not plan to use the waterproof housing for over a month, 

 

remove the waterproof seals and wipe off the grease. To wipe off 

 

the grease, hold a seal between your index finger and thumb and 

 

slide your fingers around the seal. Place the seals in a clean plastic 

 

bag and make sure weight is not placed on them during storage. 

 

Also, make sure it is not twisted when stored.

5  If using the waterproof seals after it has been in storage, make 

 

sure they are not deformed, cracked, or otherwise damaged. If a

 

seal is damaged, do not use it under any circumstance. Replace it.

REMOVING THE CAMERA FROM THE WATERPROOF 
HOUSING

Make sure you wash the exterior of the waterproof housing before 

removing the camera.
1  Make sure the Safety Lock Lever and both Lock Buckles remain 

 securely 

latched.

2  Wash the exterior of the waterproof housing in fresh water. 

 

To do this:

 

•  Submerge the waterproof housing in tub of 

 

  fresh water (i.e. tap water that is 86°F/

 

  30°C or less).

 

•  Clean the waterproof housing by moving 

 

  it back and forth, up and down, and left 

 

  and right at least 10 times.

 

•  During the rinsing, operate all the buttons 

  and 

dials.

3  If the waterproof housing was used in salt water, let it soak in fresh 

 

water for several hours to remove salt deposits. If salt deposits

 

remain on the housing, metal parts may rust and/or push buttons 

 

may become difficult to press.

d)  Release the Safety Lock Lever.

 

e)  Open the housing.

 

To close and seal the housing:

 

a)  Close the housing pressing the 

  housing 

halves 

together.

 

b)  Using the palm of your hand, press 

  the 

Safety 

Lock 

Lever toward the 

 

  housing until it clicks into its secure 

  and 

locked 

position.

 

c)  Fasten the Lock Buckles located 

 

  on the center-top and center-

 

  bottom of the housing.

2  Make certain all the buttons, dials, 

 

and zoom lever are operating correctly.

3  If any of the buttons or dials are not 

 

operating correctly, remove the camera 

 

from the housing and secure the camera back in 

 

the housing in a slightly different position.

PREPARING THE CAMERA

1  Set the camera's recording program to “underwater” to ensure 

 

your recordings have natural-looking colors with toned-down blues. 

 

See the special scene recording procedure in the camera's 

 instruction 

manual.

2  Before using the camera underwater, make sure you save your 

 

important recordings to a computer. See saving and sharing your

 

recordings in the camera's instruction manual.

3  Insert a memory card (if necessary) and attach a fully-charged 

 battery 

pack.

SECURING THE CAMERA IN THE WATERPROOF HOUSING

1  The camera must be secured in the waterproof housing before 

 

recording underwater. Perform the following procedure to secure 

 

the camera properly. 

To open the housing:

 

a)  Release the Lock Buckles located on the center-top and center-

 

  bottom of the housing.

 

b)  Open the waterproof housing by first looking for the the word 

 

  “OPEN” on the locking lever and squeezing the top and bottom 

 

  tabs inward as shown by the two arrows.

3  Turn off the camera

 

•  Press the "POWER" button.

 

•  The "ON/OFF” charge indicator on the camera will go out.

4  Remove the housing from the clean water bath and wipe the 

 

exterior with a clean, soft, dry cloth.

5  Open the waterproof housing and remove the camera.
