b) Installation
•
Warning! This product must only be installed by a qualified electrician who is familiar with the
relevant regulations. By carrying out improper work on the mains voltage you endanger not
only yourself, but also others.
•
Mount the light so that children cannot reach it.
•
The light must only be operated using the mains voltage (see "Technical data" section).
•
Always comply with the accident prevention regulations for electrical equipment when using
the product in industrial facilities.
•
This product is not explosion-proof. Never use the product in rooms which contain or may
contain flammable gases, vapours or combustible dusts! Danger of explosion!
c) Protection class / protection type
•
This product is designed according to protection class I; the earth wire must be connected.
•
The product has an IP54 weatherproof rating (rain and splashproof) and can be mounted and
operated both indoors and outdoors.
•
Never mount the product in or under water.
•
Never point a jet of water at the product.
d) LED light
•
Warning, LED light:
- Do not look directly at the LED light!
- Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!
•
The LED light bulbs are firmly embedded and cannot be replaced.

Preparation for mounting
a) Important notes
•
Refer to section “Safety instructions”!
•
The light must be protected with a 10/16A fuse at the sub-distribution. An earth leakage circuit breaker
must be installed before this.
•
The light may only be installed when it is disconnected from the power supply. It is not sufficient just to
turn off the light switch!
•
Isolate all poles of the mains cable from the mains supply by removing the electric circuit fuse or switching
off the automatic fuse. Then turn off the earth leakage circuit breaker. Protect the product against
unauthorised use (e.g. install a danger sign).
•
Check that the mains cable is isolated from the mains, e.g. with an appropriate testing device.
•
Only mount the light on a stable surface. Depending on the surface, you may need to use the screws and/
or dowels provided.
•
The light head (1) can be swivelled (refer to “Technical Data” for the swivel angle). Determine the mounting
direction before drilling the holes.
b) Motion detector (Item no. 1646404)
•
Do not place the product next to other light sources, e.g. patio or street lights, as this may prevent the
product from turning on automatically in the dark.
•
In order to ensure optimal detection, the product should be placed so that the object to be detected moves
through the detection zone from left to right or vice versa, not towards to the motion sensor. Bear this in
mind when mounting the product.
•
The range for detecting a change in temperature depends on numerous factors. Height, ambient
temperature, object size, distance, direction of movement, movement speed and the temperature
difference between the object and the surrounding area. Refer to the diagram below.
Due to the operating principle applied, it is not possible to detect temperature changes through
glass. Do not install the product behind a glass pane.

Intended use
This product is designed to light indoor and outdoor areas and is intended for wall mounting. The light cannot
be dimmed. A passive infrared sensor (PIR) built into the product (Item no. 1646404) switches the light on
when it detects movement around it. An adjustable timer turns the light off again. The lamp head can be
swivelled.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the product for
purposes other than those described above may damage the product. In addition, improper use can cause
hazards such as a short circuit, fire or electric shock. Read the instructions carefully and store them in a safe
place. Only make this product available to third parties together with its operating instructions.
