Drive Chain
Rear Drive Chain Slack
6. Roll the vehicle forward or back-
ward to adjust the chain slack to the
proper tension. See the illustration
for proper splice link clip opening
position.
7. Tighten the eccentric locking bolts
to 30 ft. lbs. (41 Nm) for machines
without the hitch and 45 ft. lbs. (61
Nm) for machines with a hitch.
8. Tighten the caliper mount bolt to 15
ft. lbs. (20 Nm)
9. Remove the pin punch.
10. Roll the vehicle forward, checking chain tension in several places
around the chain.
Tip:
The chain is adjusted correctly when the tightest portion of the chain has
approximately 3/8" (10mm) deflection.
11. Position the chain guide to allow 1/8" (3 mm) clearance and tighten
the retaining bolt to 5 ft. lbs. (7 Nm).
12. Reinstall the chain guard.
