2.1 PCI Express Gen 2 Connections
The PEX 8647-AA RDK is designed around the PEX 8647 and is based on the form factor defined in the PCI
Express CEM 2.0 specification. The RDK contains one upstream port, two downstream ports, and six midbus
footprints to allow access to test equipment, such as protocol analyzers, to all PCI Express differential signals.
Each midbus footprint accommodates eight lanes. See
Figure 2-2 for details.

2.1.1 PEX 8647 PCI Express Gen 2 Switch
The PEX 8647 is a 48-lane, 3-port PCI Express Gen 2 switch with 5GT/s SerDes. As shown in Figure 2-2 , port 0
contains lane 0 to lane 15, port 4 contains lane 16 to lane 31, and port 8 contains lane 32 to lane 47.
