Installation

1. Cabling Guidelines

Maximum length of a multi-mode fiber cable (62.5/

125

m) is:

2 kilometers

(6560 feet) for

full-duplex,

412 meters

(1351 feet) for

half-duplex

100Base-FX

after module installed

2. Power off the FNSW-800 and remove the unit from the 19-

inch rack.

3. Release the two screws to remove the module cover. Make

sure the last port

(port#8)

is free

4. Slide in the module follows the chutes firmly. Secure the two

screws.

5. Put back the switch.
6. Make the connection follow the cabling guidelines above.

Note, please check the mode (Full/Half-Duplex) of the
device that is going to attached to and set the DIP switch.

7. Power on the unit and the connected devices, the LED

indicators of port#8 will blink follow the user's guide of
FNSW-800, section "LED Indications".
