Playing a USB device
It is p ossible to p layback files

using the USB
inte r face on the f r ont of this r eceive r .
1 Switch on the receiver and your TV.

2 Press iPod USB on the remote control to
switch the receiver to the iPod/USB.
Loading
a pp ea r s in the GUI sc r een as this
r eceive r sta r ts r ecognizing the USB device
connected.

When the dis p lay shows USB Top
menu you’ r e r eady to p layback f r om the USB
device.

If an
Over Current
message lights in the
dis p lay, the p owe r r equi r ements of the USB
device a r e too high fo r this r eceive r . T r y
following the p oints below:
• Switch the r eceive r off, then on again.
• Reconnect the USB device with the
r eceive r switched off.
• Use a dedicated AC ada p te r (su pp lied with
the device) fo r USB p owe r .
If this doesn’t r emedy the pr oblem, it is likely
you r USB device is incom p atible.
Playing back audio files stored on a
USB memory device
The maximum numbe r of levels that you can
select in Ste p 2 (below) is 8. Also, you can
dis p lay and p lay back u p to 30 000 folde r s and
files within a USB memo r y device.

1 • Com p atible USB devices include exte r nal magnetic ha r d d r ives, p o r table flash memo r y ( p a r ticula r ly keyd r ives) and
digital audio p laye r s (MP3 p laye r s) of fo r mat FAT16/32. It is not p ossible to connect this unit to a p e r sonal com p ute r
fo r USB p layback.
• Pionee r cannot gua r antee com p atibility (o p e r ation and/o r bus p owe r ) with all USB mass sto r age devices and
assumes no r es p onsibility fo r any loss of data that may occu r when connected to this r eceive r .
2 Make su r e the r eceive r is in standby when disconnecting the USB device.
3 • If the file selected cannot be p layed back, this r eceive r automatically ski p s to the next file p layable.
• When the file cu rr ently being p layed back has no title assigned to it, the file name is dis p layed in the GUI sc r een
instead; when neithe r the album name no r the a r tist name is pr esent, the r ow is dis p layed as a blank s p ace.
• Note that non- r oman cha r acte r s in the p laylist a r e dis p layed as # .

iPod/USB function cannot be selected fo r the MULTI-ZONE featu r e ( p age 69).
• If this e rr o r occu r s, p layback is inte rr u p ted and the next p layable file is p layed automatically.
• This e rr o r may occu r if the title info r mation is changed on a com p ute r , etc.
