 About displaying external subtitle
files while playing DivX media files
In addition to the subtitles r eco r ded in DivX media files,
this p laye r also su pp o r ts the dis p lay of exte r nal subtitle
files. If a file has the same name as that of a DivX media
file aside f
r om the file extension and the extension is one
of the extensions listed below, the file is t r eated as an
exte r nal subtitle file. Note that DivX media files and
exte r nal subtitle files must be located in the same folde r .
Only one exte r nal subtitle file can be dis p layed on this
p laye r . Use a com p ute r , etc., to delete any exte r nal
subtitle files you do not want to dis p lay f r om the disc.
Note
• De p ending on the file, the exte r nal subtitles may not
be dis p layed pr o p e r ly.
Switching the audio
Fo r discs o r files on which multi p le audio st r eams/
channels a r e r eco r ded, audio st r eams/channels can be
switched du r ing p layback.

During playback, press AUDIO.
• The cu rr ent audio and total numbe r of r eco r ded audio
st r eams a r e dis p layed on the TV sc r een.
To switch the audio, pr ess AUDIO again.
• The audio can also be switched by selecting Audio
f r om the FUNCTION menu.
• If the audio is not switched when AUDIO is pr essed,
switch it f r om the disc menu sc r een.
Switching the CD/SACD
playback area
1 Select the area you want to play.
In the sto p mode, pr ess CD/SACD . The p layback a r ea
switches on the f r ont p anel dis p lay window each time the
button is pr essed.

2 Open the disc tray.
P r ess the  OPEN/CLOSE button.
3 Close the disc tray.

OPEN/CLOSE button. Once the disc is
loaded, the p layback a r ea switches.
Displaying the disc
information

Press DISPLAY.
The disc info r mation a pp ea r s on the TV sc r een. To switch
off the info r mation dis p lay, pr ess DISPLAY again.
The info r mation dis p lay diffe r s between du r ing p layback
and when p layback is sto pp ed.
Enjoying BONUSVIEW or
BD-LIVE
This p laye r is com p atible with BD-Video BONUSVIEW
and BD-LIVE.
When using BD-Video discs com p atible with
BONUSVIEW, you can enjoy such functions as seconda r y
video ( p ictu r e in p ictu r e) ( p age 26) and seconda r y audio
( p age 26). With BD-Video discs su pp o r ting BD-LIVE,
s p ecial video images and othe r data can be downloaded
f r om the Inte r net.
Data r eco r ded on BD video and downloaded f r om BD-
LIVE is sto r ed on the USB flash d r ive (exte r nal memo r y).
To enjoy these functions, connect a USB flash d r ive
(minimum 1 GB ca p acity, 2 GB o r g r eate r r ecommended)
su pp o r ting USB 2.0 High S p eed (480 Mbit/s) to the USB
p o r t.
• When you inse r t o r r emove a USB flash d r ive, be su r e
to tu r n the p laye r ’s p owe r off.
• To r ecall data sto r ed in the USB flash d r ive, fi r st inse r t
the disc media that was being used at the time the
data was downloaded (if a diffe
r ent disc is loaded, the
data sto r ed on the USB flash d r ive cannot be p layed).
• If a USB flash d r ive containing othe r data ( pr eviously
r eco r ded) is used, the video and audio may not p lay
back pr o p e r ly.
• Do not disconnect the USB flash d r ive while p layback
is in pr og r ess.
• Some time may be r equi r ed fo r the data to load ( r ead/
w r ite).
Caution
• It may not be p ossible to use the BONUSVIEW and
BD-LIVE functions if the r e is insufficient s p ace on the
USB flash d r ive. In this case, r efe r to Erasing data that
has been added to BDs and application data on
p age 38 fo r e r asing the Vi r tual Package data and the
BD-LIVE data in the USB flash d r ive.
Note
• O p e r ation of USB flash d r ives is not gua r anteed.
• Playback of BD-LIVE function data diffe r s de p ending
on the disc used. Fo r details, consult the use r
inst r uctions su pp lied with the disc.
• To enjoy the BD-LIVE function, a netwo r k connection
and settings a r e r equi r ed ( p ages 18 and 37).
• BD-LIVE is a function that pr ovides fo r connection to
the Inte r net. Discs su pp o r ting the BD-LIVE function
may send ID codes identifying this p laye r and the disc
to the contents pr ovide r via the Inte r net.
