Software updating
The p laye r ’s softwa r e can be u p dated using one of the
methods shown below.
• Connecting to the Inte r net.
• Using a disc.
• Using a USB memo r y device.
P r oduct info r mation on this p laye r is pr ovided on the
Pionee r website. Check the website shown on p age 7 fo r
u p date and se r vice info r mation on you r Blu- r ay disc
p laye r .
Caution
• Do not un p lug the p owe r co r d o r r emove the USB
memo r y device/disc du r ing softwa r e u p dating.
Othe r wise, the u p dating will be abo r ted and
malfunction may occu r with the p laye r .
• The r e a r e two pr ocesses fo r softwa r e u p dating,
downloading and u p dating. Both pr ocesses may take
a ce r tain p e r iod of time.
• Othe r o p e r ations a r e defeated du r ing softwa r e
u p dating. Fu r the r mo r e, u p dating pr ocess cannot be
canceled.
• When the f r ont p anel dis p lay is off, tu r n it on with FL
DIMMER . When u p dating the p laye r ’s softwa r e with
the f r ont p anel dis p lay off, do not un p lug the p owe r
co r d until the unit tu r ns off.

1 Connect to the Internet.
2 When playback is stopped, display the Home
Menu screen.

3 Select and set Initial Setup.

7 Updating starts.
• Softwa r e u p dating may take a ce r tain p e r iod of time.
8 Updating completes.

Updating using a USB memory
device/disc
Note
• When an u p date file is pr ovided on the Pionee r
website, use you r com p ute r to download it onto a
USB memo r y device o r disc. Ca r efully r ead the
inst r uctions on downloading u p date files pr ovided on
the Pionee r website.
• Sto r e the u p date file in the r oot di r ecto r y of the USB
memo r y device o r disc. Do not sto r e it within a folde r .
• Do not p ut any files othe r than the u p date file on the
USB memo r y device o r disc.
• To u p date using a disc, use a CD-R o r CD-RW disc.
• The p laye r su pp o r ts USB memo r y devices fo r matted
in FAT32/16. When fo r matting a USB memo r y device
on you r com p ute r , do so with the settings below.
– File system: FAT32
– Allocation unit size: Default allocation size
• Only sto r e the most r ecent u p date file on the USB
memo r y device o r disc.
• Do not use a USB extension cable to connect a USB
memo r y device to the p laye r . Using a USB extension
cable may pr event the p laye r f r om p e r fo r ming
co rr ectly.
• Ste p s 1 to 5 a r e the o p e r ations p e r fo r med by the use r .
• Ste p s 6 to

1 Plug in the USB memory device or load the disc on
which the update file is stored.
