‘boosts’ the temperature while the minus (-) button puts the iron in stand-by mode.
3.2 Firmware
The Pinecil runs IronOS, an open firmware distributed under GNU
GPLv3. The firmware can be upgraded (flashed) via USB-C.
IronOS offers a number of features, including:
● PID style temperature control
● Automatic Sleep with selectable sensitivity
● Lift to wake support
● Temperature ‘boost’ mode temporarily increasing temperature
● Automatic LCD rotation
● Support for PD, QC and DC power modes
