On the lower MFD Avionics Window on the PFD tab, make sure that the Heading selection is
Magnetic.

Make sure that the HF radio system (if installed) is set to ON.
5.3
Procedure
5.3.1
CAUTION
THE AIRCRAFT MUST STAY ON EACH HEADING FOR AT LEAST ONE MINUTE TO AVOID
HEADING ERRORS.
Use the compass base rose or the datum compass to put the aircraft on the magnetic heading of 000
(N) degrees.
5.3.2
Wait a minimum of one minute to let the ADAHRS heading become stable.
5.3.3
Make sure that the ADAHRS heading shows 0° ±2°.
5.3.4
Do Step 5.3.1 thru Step 5.3.3 for the magnetic headings that follow:

90°
−
180°
−
270°.

If the ADAHRS headings are in the limits, then go to Close Up Step 5.4. If the ADAHRS headings are
not in the limits, then continue with Step 5.3.6.
5.3.6
Remove the access panel 21QZ.
5.3.7
Connect a Sub-D cable (Pt.No. T34-050) between the Laptop computer (Pt.No. Local supply) and the
J1 connector on the Maintenance box (Pt.No. T45-005).
Note
Use a laptop computer that has two RS232 ports to do this procedure or you can use two laptop
computers.

Boot up the laptop computer(s).
5.3.10
Click on the START icon and select "Program Files/KSG7200_Maintenance_Program/
KSG_7200_Maintenance_Program".
5.3.11
Make sure that the KSG 7200 Field Maintenance Program is shown on the laptop computer screen.
5.3.12
Set the appropriate COMM port for the computer and click on the START MAINTENANCE button.
5.3.13
Do Step 5.3.10 thru Step 5.3.12 again to start the maintenance software a second time if you use one
computer, or to start the maintenance software on the second computer.
Note
If the software cannot establish communication between the ADAHRS and the laptop computer, the
screen will show a box "Maintenance Mode Operation Not Allowed". If you see this, make sure that the
Sub-D cable is connected and that the correct COMM port is set on the laptop computer.
5.3.14
Make sure that the CHOOSE ITEM TO VIEW screen is shown on the computer.
5.3.15
Connect the maintenance box to the Maintenance Panel.
5.3.16
Make sure that the MFD BAT 1 and BAT 2 charging current is less than 10 Amps before you start the
compass calibration procedure.
