2. Plug the DA-15 connector on the adapter cable into the PORT 1 

connector on the Communications board V.25 bis network panel, 
as shown in Figure 2-8.

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for a second cable, if available, by connecting 

the second Data Unit to the PORT 2 connector.

4. Tighten the screws on the connectors.

5. Follow the instructions in the Meridian Data Services: Data Unit 

User Guide (P0673940-S943)

, and plug the power cords for the 

Data Units into an AC power source.

The Data Unit powers on and performs a self test. When the test 
completes, you see the 

Power

 and 

Sync

 lights steadily lit. You 

also see the 

Sync

 light under 

MODE

 steadily lit.
