CONTROLS AND CONNECTIONS

Front Panel Description

1. Microphone Input

This ¼” TS connectors are for the addition of microphone signals 

to channel 1 of the ZA200B. Users can also use the Combo jacks 

on the rear of the device.

2. Level Controls

These  level  controls  adjust  the  incoming  signal  level  from  the 

microphone and line input jacks.

3. Treble Control

This control allows users to boost or cut the level of high frequency 

audio that will be offered in the main signal.

4. Bass Control

The  bass  control  allows  users  to  boost  or  cut  the  level  of  low 

frequency audio in the main signal.

5. Volume Control

This control will adjust the final output level of the ZA200B.

6. Talkback Button

This button will give priority to the microphone signals from input 

channel 1. When activated, anytime the microphone connected 

to channel 1 is used all other signals will dip down by 25 dB to 

give priority to the mic. The signal will return to normal 2 seconds 

after you stop speaking through the microphone.

7. Alert & Announce Buttons

These two buttons will send an alert or an announce tone through 

to the speakers. The Alert button can also be used to activate 

a siren, the length of which will be 2 minutes and 30 seconds. 

Pushing the Alert button a second time will disengage the siren. 

The ‘’announce’ button will active a 3 second ‘do mi so do’ tone 

to indicate an announcement. Activating either of these tones will 

cut out all music and other input sources.

8. Zone 1 and 2 Buttons

These  buttons  determine  the  destination  of  the  mixer’s  input 

signals. Pushing zone 1 will send the signal to the zone 1 screw 

terminal outputs on the rear, and pushing zone 2 will send the 

signal to the zone 2 screw terminal outputs.

9. Back/Forward Buttons

Pushing these buttons will allow users to skip back and forwards 

between tracks in sequence. 

10. Play Button

Push  this  button  to  start  and  pause  playback  of  the  currently 

displayed track. Starting a track after it is paused will resume the 

track from the point at which it was paused. 

11. Stop / Menu Button

This button will allow users to stop playback on currently playing 

tracks. Push and hold the button to access the menu, allowing the 

repeat status of playback to be changed between repeat none, 

repeat one, repeat all and track shuffle. 

 

12. Display

This display will display the track number currently being played 

and  the  time  current  play  time.  It  also  indicates  the  current 

playback status. 

13. USB Port

Connect  your  USB  flash  drive  to  this  input.  Once  a  drive  is 

connected,  the  files  will  initiate  and  the  first  track  will  appear 

paused on screen. Phonic recommends that you format your USB 

drives with a FAT-32 file system.

14. VU Meter

This meter will display the ZA200B’s output signal level.

15 Tape Input

These stereo RCA inputs can be used to connect external devices 

to the ZA200B. These may include CD players, MP3 players or 

laptop computers. Also included are 1/8” mini-stereo inputs for 

more versatile installation.

16. Tape Input Control

This control adjusts the incoming signal level from the RCA tape 

input connectors. This also controls the incoming signal from the 

ZA200B’s USB player.

17. Line Output

These RCA connectors will send the main signal out to external 

input  devices. This  could  include  secondary  mixers,  recording 

devices or additional amplifiers/speakers.

18. Power Button

This button is pushed to turn the device on and off.
