40. DSP Effect Fader

This control adjusts the level of the audio to be

sent  from  the  Digital  Effect  mixing  bus  to  the

main mixing bus.

Master Section

41. Power Amp Control Switches

These  switches  control  the  activity  and  the

strength of the power amp. Using the left switch

can alternate between the different signals which

can be processed by the built-in power amp and

routed to the main speaker outputs on the rear

of  the  device. This  switch  allows  you  to  select

from: A and B Stereo – the final level of which is

adjusted by the MAIN L/R fader; AUX 1/MONO

– the final level of which is adjusted by the AUX

1 fader and MONO fader; AUX 1/AUX 2 outputs

– the final level of which is adjusted by the AUX

1 and 2 faders, and; MONO BRIDGE – which is

output via the XLR Speaker output A only, and

has its volume controlled by the MONO fader.

NB.

When using mono bridge mode, do not connect

a  speaker  to  any  speaker  output  other  than  XLR

Speaker  output  A.  Doing  so  may  have  undesired

consequences.

The amplification power can be changed between

300  and  500  Watts  by  using  the  right  switch,

the setting of which will depend on the size of

a venue and the input capacity of the speakers

you have chosen to use.

43. Phantom Power Switch

When  activated,  this  switch  provides  +48V

of phantom power on pins 2 and 3 of the XLR

microphone  connections,  allowing  condenser

microphones to be used on these channels.

44. Graphic Equalizer and FBD

This stereo, 7 band graphic equalizer allows the

user to adjust the frequency response of a sig-

nal, with a maximum of ±12 dB of signal boost

or  cut  for  each  of  the  frequencies. The AUX  1

/ L/R switch alternates the use of the equalizer

between the use of the AUX 1 bus and MAIN L/R

bus signals, respectively. When L/R is selected,

the equalizer is applied to not only both the main

stereo outputs (Main and Speaker outputs), but

also to the mono output.  Pushing the on button

in activates the equalizer, which is accompanied

by an illuminated LED.

One feature built into the Powepod K-16’s graphic

equalizer  is  a

Feedback  Detection  System

The  individual  LEDs  located  on  the  sliding  VR

controls  of  the  equalizer  will  illuminate  when

feedback  occurs  on  that  particular  frequency

band.  By  reducing  the  level  of  that  frequency

band you can quite effectively remove feedback

from your audio; after which the LED will turn off.

If the FBD button is pushed in, feedback detection

is active for the final AUX 1 signal, whereas if it’s

release, the feedback detection is active for the

main L-R signal. It is recommended that users

switch the AUX 1 / L/R button to the same setting

as the FBD button to ensure simpler adjustment

of frequencies that have produced feedback.

42. Solid Phonic System

Using  this  switch  will  enable  the  user  to  give

both the high and low frequencies of their sound

a little boost to improve the overall robustness of

the audio. There is no guarantee your sound will

improve with the sPs activated, however, so it’s

probably desirable to audition the mixer’s sound

with this switch on and off, and decide which is

better for your purposes.
