The PROFINET controller/device function of the 

AXC 1050 (XC)

This section covers the following topics:

How to activate or deactivate the PROFINET controller/device function in 

PC Worx (Express).

–

How to integrate the AXC 1050 (XC) into PC Worx as a PROFINET controller and/or 

PROFINET device.

6.5.1

Activating the PROFINET controller/device function

You can activate the PROFINET controller and/or PROFINET device function once you 

have assigned an IP address for the AXC 1050 (XC) as described in Section 6.3.

•

In the "Device Details" window, select the "PROFINET activation" setting under "Ex-

tended Settings".

•

In the "Settings" drop-down list, select one of the following entries: "PROFINET device 

activated" (in the example in Figure 6-21), "PROFINET controller activated" or 

"PROFINET device activated / PROFINET controller activated".

The PROFINET controller and device function of the controller is not supported by the 

PC Worx Express software.

If there is already an online connection between PC Worx Express and the controller, you 

can simply activate/deactivate the PROFINET controller function and/or the PROFINET 

device function. PROFINET networks cannot be configured in the PC Worx Express soft-

ware.

The PROFINET activation procedure is identical in PC Worx and PC Worx Express.
