Important Safety and Handling Information
The PFO Bracelet contains sensitive components. Do not drop, disassemble, open the modules, crush, bend, deform, puncture, shred, microwave, incinerate,
paint, or insert foreign objects into the PFO Bracelet. Do not use the PFO Bracelet if it has been damaged— for example, if the PFO Bracelet is cracked,
punctured, or damaged by water.
Keeping the Outside of the PFO Bracelet Clean
Clean the PFO Bracelet immediately, with a slightly damp cloth, if it comes into contact with any contaminants that may cause stains, such as ink, dyes,
makeup, dirt, food, oils, and lotions. To clean the PFO Bracelet, first remove the the PFO Bracelet from your wrist. Then use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free
cloth. Avoid getting moisture in openings. Do not use window cleaners, household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives to clean
the PFO Bracelet. Avoid water and wet locations. Do not use the PFO Bracelet in rain, or near washbasins or other wet locations. Take care not to spill any
food or liquid on the PFO Bracelet. In case the PFO Bracelet gets wet, unplug all cables, turn off the PFO Bracelet before cleaning, and allow it to dry
thoroughly before turning it on again. Do not attempt to dry the PFO Bracelet with an external heat source, such as a microwave oven or hair dryer. Damage
to the PFO Bracelet caused by contact with liquid is not covered under warranty.
Repairing or Modifying the PFO Bracelet
Never attempt to repair or modify the PFO Bracelet yourself. The PFO Bracelet does not contain any user-serviceable parts. Disassembling the PFO Bracelet,
including the removal of external screws and cover, may cause damage that is not covered under warranty. Service should only be provided by PFO or a
PFO Authorized Service Provider. If you have questions, contact PFO or an PFO Authorized Service Provider. For service information, go to
www.pfotech.com.
Battery Replacement
Do not attempt to replace the rechargeable battery in the PFO Bracelet yourself. The battery may only be replaced by PFO or a PFO Authorized Service
Provider. For more information about battery replacement service, please visit www.pfotech.com.
Charging the PFO Bracelet
To charge the PFO Bracelet, use the PFO Adapter. Read all safety instructions for any products and accessories before using with the PFO Bracelet. PFO is
not responsible for the operation of, or any damage caused by third-party accessories or their compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Do not
connect or disconnect the PFO Power Adapter with wet hands.
The PFO Power Adapter may become warm during normal use. Always allow adequate ventilation around the PFO Adapter and use care when handling.
Unplug the PFO Adapter if any of the following conditions exist:
• The power cord or plug has become frayed or damaged.
• The adapter is exposed to rain, liquid, or excessive moisture.
• The adapter case has become damaged.
• You suspect the adapter needs service or repair.
• You want to clean the adapter.
Emergency service
You should not rely on wireless devices for essential communications. Use of the PFO Bracelet with emergency services may not work in all locations or all
operating conditions. Emergency services vary by region, and sometimes an emergency alarm cannot be placed due to network availability or environmental
interference. If you have not activated your PFO Bracelet the alarm will not work.
Navigation/Tracking
Location-based information depends on data services. These data services are subject to change and may not be available in all geographic areas, resulting
in maps, digital compass headings and location-based information that may be unavailable, inaccurate, or incomplete. The bracelet
́
s function is dependent
on the Telecom net. Coverage may result in maps, digital compass headings and location-based information that may be unavailable, inaccurate, or
incomplete. The performance of the bracelet’s function may be negatively affected by magnetic or other environmental interference.
Choking and Bodily Hazards
The PFO Bracelet contains small parts, which may present a choking hazard to small children. Keep the PFO Bracelet and its accessories away from small
children. Prolonged use of the PFO Bracelet may cause you eczema and it it recommended that you take it off if you experience any such symptoms.
Potentially Explosive Atmospheres
Turn off the PFO Bracelet by taking it off when in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere. Do not charge the PFO Bracelet, and obey all signs and
instructions. Sparks in such areas could cause an explosion or fire, resulting in serious injury or even death. Areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere are
often, but not always, marked clearly. Potential areas may include: fueling areas (such as gas stations); below deck on boats; fuel or chemical transfer or
storage facilities; vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane); areas where the air contains chemicals or particles (such as grain, dust,
or metal powders); and any other area where you would normally be advised to turn off your vehicle engine.
Keeping the PFO Bracelet within Acceptable Temperatures
The PFO Bracelet is designed to be operated in temperatures between 0° and 35°C (32° to 95°F) and stored for longer period in temperatures between -20°
and 30°C (-4° to 113°F). Low- or high-temperature conditions may temporarily shorten battery life or cause the PFO Bracelet to temporarily stop working
properly. Leaving the PFO Bracelet in a parked vehicle or in direct sunlight can cause PFO Bracelet to exceed these storage or operating temperature ranges.
Avoid dramatic changes in temperature or humidity when using the PFO Bracelet as condensation may form on or within the PFO Bracelet. When using the
PFO Bracelet or charging the battery, it is normal for the PFO Bracelet to get warm. The exterior of the PFO Bracelet functions as a cooling surface that
transfers heat from inside the unit to the cooler air outside.
Exposure to Radio Frequency Energy
The PFO Bracelet contains radio transmitters and receivers. When on, PFO Bracelet receives and sends out radio frequency (RF) energy through its
antennas. Both the GPS antenna and the cellular antenna are located within the main compartment of the PFO Bracelet. The PFO Bracelet is designed and
manufactured to comply with the limits for exposure to RF energy set by the European Union.
The exposure standard employs a unit of measurement known as the specific absorption rate, or SAR. The SAR limit applicable to the PFO Bracelet is 2.0
W/kg set by the Council of the European Union. Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions (i.e., as worn on the body) specified by these
agencies, with the PFO Bracelet transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. Although SAR is determined at the highest
certified power level in each frequency band, the actual SAR level of the PFO Bracelet.
While in operation, the SAR can be well below the maximum value because the PFO Bracelet adjusts its cellular transmitting power based in part on proximity
to the wireless network. In general, the closer you are to a cellular base station, the lower the cellular transmitting power level.
The PFO Bracelet has been tested and meets the European Union RF exposure guidelines for cellular and GPS operation.
Aircraft
Use of the PFO Bracelet may be prohibited while traveling in aircraft.
