Remove the diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) line (1)

from the injector (4).

Remove the coolant lines (2) from the injector.

Remove the electrical connector (3) from the

injector.

Remove the bolts from the injector and remove the

injector.

Replace gasket. The steel side of the gasket

should face towards diesel particulate filter (DPF)
outlet.

Replace the injector.

Apply anti-seize to bolt threads.

Torque the bolts of the injector to 5 N·m (3.7 lb ft).

Retighten all bolts to 5 N·m (3.7 lb ft), then turn
90°.

Connect the electrical connector.

Connect the coolant lines.

Connect the DEF line.

The

approved

Perkins

DPF

maintenance

procedure

requires

that

one

the

following

actions

taken

when

the

DPF

needs

cleaned:

• The DPF from your engine can be replaced with a

new DPF

• The DPF from your engine can be replaced with a

remanufactured DPF

• The DPF from your engine can be cleaned by your

local authorized Perkins dealer, or a Perkins
approved DPF cleaning machine, and reinstalled

Note:

To maintain emissions documentation, the

DPF that is removed from the engine when the DPF
is cleaned must be reinstalled on the same engine.

Note:

A specific ash service regeneration must be

performed before removing a DPF that will be
cleaned. All three scenarios listed above require a
reset of the ash monitoring system in the engine
ECM.
