Perkins engines are identified by a serial number.
This number is shown on a serial number plate that is
mounted on the left hand side of the engine block.
An example of an engine number is
XK12345U090001P.

090001 Engine Serial Number
P Year of Manufacture
Perkins distributors need these numbers in order to
determine the components that were included with
the engine. This permits accurate identification of
replacement part numbers.

side of the engine block above the fuel injection
pump.
