1.3 Compatibility Notes
This section will inform you of the specific requirements for your factory
radio to be compatible with the PXDPGMT. These notes will inform you of
any issues or circumstances that can affect the compatibility of our product
with your radio, audio system, or accessories. Not all Factory radios are
compatible with the PXDPGMT. The PXDPGMT will only work on models
equipped with the specifications listed below. Please read and understand
these notes before proceeding:
Radio Requirements
Radios must have a CD and/or Tape player and must be XM compatible or
CD changer ready. This indicates that the required connection is present
on the rear of the head unit and that the radio has the necessary function-
ality to operate the PXDPGMT.
1.4 Harness Selection
The harness used is determined by whether or not your vehicle has an OEM
Satellite Radio tuner installed.
If the vehicle has an XM tuner installed,
use the PXHGMtX harness. If the radio is cD changer ready, with or
without a cD changer use the PXHGMt harness. If the vehicle is XM
ready WItHout an XM tuner installed use the PXHGMt harness. If a
Factory cD changer is present the PXHGMtcD harness is required
to retain the cD changer when using both the PXHGMtX or the PX-
HGMt harnesses.

your local Peripheral Electronics dealer. Visit the Peripheral web site at
www.peripheralelectronics.com and click “Tech Dept” and then “Applica-
tion Guides” to access the most up to date PXDPGMT application guide.
Chapter 2 - Installation:
This chapter will explain how to install the PXDPGMT interface using the
PXHGMT and the PXHGMTX harnesses. Some installations require you
to make wiring connections.
To eliminate the risk of an electrical short, we
recommend removing the negative terminal from the vehicles battery prior
to installation.
If you do not feel comfortable making these connections, we
suggest you seek professional installation.
