EXTENSION CORD SELECTION

Replace damaged extension cords immediately. Use of damaged extension cords can shock, burn or electrocute.

If an extension cord is used, make sure the conductor size is large enough to prevent excessive voltage drop which will cause loss of power and 

possible motor damage. A table of recommended extension cord sizes will be found in this section. This table is based on limiting line voltage drop to 

5 volts for 115 volts at 150% of rated amperes. If an extension cord is to be used outdoors it must be marked with the suffix W-A or W following the 

cord type designation. For example – SJTW-A to indicate it is acceptable for outdoor use.

ASSEMBLY

The Performance Tool orbital buffer is packaged and shipped fully assembled.

Be sure to follow the below instructions before each use.

Switching on and off:
1. When starting this buffer, always maintain a firm grip on the tool with both hands to resist starting torque.
2. Using your finger, push the ON/OFF switch (2) while gripping the polisher firmly with both hands.  
  Allow the pad to rotate to its full speed.
3. To turn off, use your finger to push the ON/OFF switch (2).

APPLICATIONS

The Performance Tool Random Orbital Buffer can be used to polish and buff most high-gloss surfaces. The terrycloth application bonnet 

and synthetic wool bonnet are manufactured to apply and remove polishes and waxes. Common applications include: cars, boats, aircraft, 

hardwood floors, furniture and more.

PREPARING THE SURFACE

Before you begin, make sure that the surface is clean and dry. The work area must also be dry. Most high-gloss surfaces can be cleaned with 

a mild soap and water solution. If necessary, remove stubborn dirt such as road tar, grease and bug stains with a cleaning product designed 

for this purpose.
