Descaling
After some time, the boiling process will result in limescale being deposited
in parts of the kettle (depending on the hardness of the water used). You
should remove this at regular intervals, because otherwise the power con-
sumption of the device will increase.
1. Pull the top end of the limescale filter away from the inner wall.
2. Pull the limescale filter off upwards from the kettle. If there is limescale
residue in the limescale filter, place it in the kettle when descaling.
3. Fill the limescale remover into the kettle. Use a commercially available
limescale remover, e.g. limescale remover for coffee machines. Comply
with the instructions on the packaging of the limescale remover. You can
find the next steps in the instructions of the limescale remover. Rinse
the kettle multiple times after descaling, if necessary.
4. After descaling, rinse the limescale filter well. Insert the lower end of the
limescale filter into the bracket provided in the kettle, and press the top
end against the inner wall until you hear it click into place.
Time intervals for descaling
The intervals for descaling are dependent on the hardness of the water,
and how often you use the device. Where the hardness of the water is me-
dium or high, we recommend descaling monthly.
If using tap water, you can find out the hardness of the water in the area
where you live by inquiring at your local waterworks.
