front of the appliance. (See Figures A, D, E and

the exploded view.)

•

Align the upper arm (part # 19) between the

upper arm holder (part # 18) and the upper arm

clamp (part # 21) and position the upper arm

so that the electrode of the arm (part # 24) is

facing down.

•

NOTE: Make sure the upper arm (part # 19)

aligns with the lower one.

•

Arm (part # 19) fully assembled. (See Figure A,

and the exploded view.)

•

Tighten the four screws (part # 15).

•

Fit the handle to the spot weld

To mount the wooden handle (part # 37) on

the spot weld, insert the bolt (# 36) through the

handle brackets (# 34) and the handle. Tighten

the parts with a lock washer (# 35) and a nut (#

35). (See Figure A, and the exploded view.)

•

The next step is to mount the handle (parts #

37, # 36, # 34, # 35, # 33) to the front device

housing (part # 25) on the spot weld with the

four bolts, (part # 33). (See Figure A and the

exploded view.)

•

Attach the arm electrodes to the spot

weld

•

WARNING: Before connecting the arm

electrodes (part # 24), make sure that the

spot welder is disconnected from the mains.

To mount the arm electrodes (part # 24) on

the lower and upper arms (part # 19 & # 19a),

screw the electrodes as shown in Figure F.

Operation

Adjust the arm and working pressure

•

WARNING: Before adjusting the arms (parts # 9

& # 19a) and the pressure of the control handle

(part # 12), make sure that the spot weld is not

connected to the mains.

•

NOTE: Excessive pressure on the arms (part #

19, 19a) can damage the electrodes (part # 24).

Do not use the forcing electrodes to hold the

workpiece. If the workpieces to be welded do

not get good contact between the surfaces to

be welded, put on a clamp so that there is good

contact. (See Figure C, D and the exploded

view).

•

You can adjust the pressure between the arms

(parts # 19, # 19a), and it should be checked

or set before use. Proper pressure between the

arms is necessary to get a good welding point

and to prevent damage to the arm electrodes.

(See Figures C, D and the exploded view.)

•

The pressure between the arms is too small

and the workpiece is too loose when closing

the arms and an arc arises between the

surfaces and there is no welding point. To

increase the pressure between the arms,

loosen the nut (part # 18). The more the nut is

loosened, the higher the pressure between the

electrodes when the control handle is

closed. The next step is to turn the rear lock

nut towards the upper arm holder to lock it in

the desired position. (See Figures C, D, and the

exploded view.)

•

If the pressure is too high, the weld will form a

pit and material will splash out around the area.

To lower the pressure on the arms, loosen the

rear nut (part # 18) and turn the front nut (part

# 18) towards the upper arm holder (part # 21)

to lock it at the desired pressure. (See Figures

C, D, and the exploded view.)

•

The further down the adjusting screw is

screwed (part # 10), the further down the

control handle will close. By adjusting the

adjusting screw, you control how the arms

close around the material. Adjust the adjusting

screw so that the control handle can be raised

easily after welding. (See Figures A, E and the

exploded view.)

Power switch

•

The switch (part # 9) allows you to turn the

spot welding on and off. (See Figures A, E and

the exploded view.)

•

Push the power switch (part # 9) sideways in

either direction to release power. Release the

power switch to turn off the power.

Control handle

•

WARNING: Never touch your arms when

welding on a workpiece. Allow the electrodes

and workpiece to cool before handling them.

(See Figures A, E, F, and the exploded view.)

•

The control handle allows you to open and

close the arms of the device. (See Figures A, E,

and the exploded view.)

•

The control handle is closed during the welding

procedure and the workpiece is fixed between

the electrodes. Open with the control handle

after a spark has been created and a welding

point has been made to loosen the workpiece.

(See Figures A, C, E and the exploded view.)
