5. Installation and start-up
5.1 Installation
• Install the mounting plate (supplied) on the
ceiling over the detection area.
• Fit presence sensor and turn in clockwise
direction until it snaps into position.
5.2 Start-up
• Charge energy storage device (approx. 5 min at
50-100 LUX) or select optional battery operation.
• Assign presence sensor to energy controller
(see instructions for Energy Controller).
• If necessary set parameters for presence sen-
sor (see instructions for Energy Controller).
• Install presence sensor.
6. Operation and functions
6.1 Operation
It is not possible to manually switch the lighting on
and of with the presence sensor. The switching
function is controlled by the energy controller.
6.2 Presence (movement)
The presence sensor registers the presence (mo-
vement) of persons. It sends the registered values
for presence/absence (after approx. 2 minutes) to
the energy controller for evaluation (radio signal).
6.3 Light measurement
The presence sensor registers the light value (IR
component) of the ambient light. The light value
is dependent on the artificial lighting, nature of
surfaces (light/dark) or the incidence of light from
windows. The registered light value is sent to the
energy controller for evaluation (radio signal).
Important installation information!!
– NEVER install presence sensors in a metal en-
closure or in the immediate vicinity of large me-
tal objects. Installation close to floor level or on
the floor is not recommended.
– The ideal installation height is 2-3 m.

Caution !!
– The energy storage device must be charged
over several days at 50-100 LUX for light mea-
surement to function correctly.
– The presence sensor detects the infrared por-
tion of the light. As such, the light can only be
switched on in the case of presence detection if
using light bulbs and halogen lamps!

6.4 LRN Button
The presence sensor is assigned to the energy
controller or reset by pressing the LRN button.
The energy controller must be in learn mode!
6.5 Test button / LED test
The
Test LED
lights up when the

is
pressed and the presence sensor sends a test
signal. In this way, it is possible to check the char-
ge level of the energy storage device.
7. Troubleshooting & remedies
7.1 New system or existing system
• Check the system’s surroundings for changes
that could cause interference (e.g. metal cabi-
nets, furniture or walls which have been moved).
• If the energy controller operates at a reduced
distance from the presence sensor, the radio
signal was encountering interference or it was
operating outside the transmission range. Relo-
cate the presence sensor to a better location.
7.2 Range restrictions of radio signals
• Use of the presence sensor in the vicinity of
metal objects or materials with metal compon-
ents. Maintain minimum distance of 10 cm.
• Damp materials.
• Devices which emit high-frequency signals
(e.g. audio and video systems, computers,
electronic ballasts in light fixtures).
Maintain minimum distance of 0.5 m.

8. Correct battery disposal
The ID code on the battery and in the
documentation indicates that the bat-
tery must not be disposed of together
with normal household waste.
If the battery is marked with the chemical sym-
bols Hg, Cd or PB, the mercury, cadmium or lead
content of the battery is above the limits stipula-
ted by the EC Directive 2006/66.
Batteries that are not disposed of correctly can cau-
se damage to human health and the environment.
After use, batteries, separated from other waste
products, are to be disposed of free of charge
through dealers or at municipal collection points.
