Paper shredder setup
Place the paper shredder on the waste-
paper basket
8
so it rests on the edge.
Plug the mains plug into a properly in-
stalled socket (230 V, 50 Hz).
Flip the paper feed cover
1
up.
Note: You may shred up to 5 sheets of
size A4 paper (80 g / m
2
) at once using
the blade opening
3
. You may fill the
paper feed
2
and shred up to 50 sheets
size A4 paper (80 g / m
2
).
Note: Always insert smaller pieces of
paper such as envelopes or receipts in
the middle of the blade opening
3
.
Install paper cassette and bin for
CD rubbish
Slide the paper guide
12
into the side
guides of the paper cassette
13
from
above (see Fig. B I-III). Then slide the
assembled paper cassette into the chute
2
(Fig. B-IV).
IMPORTANT! Be sure the insert the pa-
per cassette before starting the device!
Switch off the device and unplug from
the mains. Remove the cutting unit by
the handle and turn over. Slide the bin
for CD rubbish
14
into the two retaining
collars
15
(Fig. C).
Note: The bin for CD rubbish
14
signifi
-
cantly reduces the capacity of the paper
bin. Therefore only use as needed or if
you absolutely wish to separate the CD
rubbish from paper waste.
Using auto mode
Set the shredder AUTO / OFF / REVERSE
switch
4
to “AUTO“. The motor will start
automatically when paper is inserted.
The power light
6
will light up green.
Adding paper
When paper to be shredded is inserted
into the paper cartridge
13
the device
will automatically start shredding. You
can also remove the paper cartridge
13
,
collect paper to be shredded in it (offline)
and shred as needed.
Shredding CDs
Shred CDs by adding them to the sepa-
rate cutting opening
9
.
Clearing jams
If the paper cartridge
13
does not feed the
paper added, remove from the cassette.
Remove any paper clips, staples or crum-
pled up paper (also see Fig. D). Then add
the paper again and set the switch
4
to
position
“
AUTO
“
.
In the event of a jam, slide the AUTO /
OFF / REVERSE switch
4
to the “REV
ER-
SE“ position (reverse). Then set the
AUTO / OFF / REVERSE switch
4
to the
“AUTO“ position (forward). This will clear
the jam.
When necessary, you can alternatively
open the paper guide by turning the me-
chanism
11
and remove jammed paper.
Preventing jams and overloading
The paper shredder features a motor overload
protection. A cycle corresponds to about
5 minutes at a maximum load of 50 sheets.
The device will automatically switch off when:
– Exceeding the maximum capacity of 5
sheets (in the cutting opening
3
) or 50
sheets of paper (in the paper chute
2
)
or not inserting the paper centred in the
cutting opening. The Power / Overload
6
light will light up red.
– Continuously using the device for more
than 5 minutes at maximum capacity. The
Bin Full / Overheat
7
light will light up red.
–
The waste bin is full. The Bin Full / Over-
heat light
7
will light up blue.
