Touch io Instruction Manual
8. Prepare to mount the
touch io
reader by feeding the wire bundle slack inside the wall or mullion so it is
concealed and out of the way. The
touch io
reader must be mounted securely and flush against the
surface.
9. Snap the reader into the clear bracket’s upper and lower mounting stubs (with the LED illumination ring
at the top end of the reader). Position the reader’s bottom hole to align with the bracket’s bottom screw
mount stub. Insert and secure the screw into the bottom of the reader to fasten it to the bracket’s
mounting stub.
With the
touch io
reader properly wired and securely mounted, the power supply and backup battery can be
energized.
NOTE
: A backup battery is HIGHLY recommended to prevent system failure in the event of an AC power
loss.
When first powered up, the reader’s LED ring initially illuminates white (during boot up) and then to its
default yellow color.
Need additional information about any of the following?
Single-Gang Mounting
The
touch io
reader can be mounted on a wall within a single-gang box (the size of a light switch or electrical
outlet box) or to any suitably flat surface.
Touch io
can be installed as a new device, or it can replace an
existing reader. If the
touch io
reader is replacing an existing legacy device, the single-gang method is
recommended. The adaptor plate mounting bracket can be utilized to cover various sized holes in the wall’s
surface. Depending on the mounting location, new hardware may be required.
