Important Safety Instructions:

For safety purposes, this lamp is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). If
the plug does not fit securely into your outlet, do not force it - contact a professional electrician. Use the
plug with an extension cord only if it can be fully inserted into the cord’s socket. Never alter the plug in
any way.

These instructions are provided for your safety. It is very important that they are read carefully and
completely before beginning the assembly of this lighting fixture.

This fixture has been rated for up to (1) 60-watt maximum Type A standard incandescent light bulb (not
included) or a 13-watt compact fluorescent bulb (included in box for lamps sold in the state of
California). To avoid the risk of fire, do not exceed the recommended bulb wattage.

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or other personal injury, always turn off the light fixture and allow
the bulb to cool prior to replacing the light bulb.

Do not touch bulb when fixture is turned on. Do not look directly at a lit bulb, for obvious reasons.
•
Do not touch the metal bell shade when the fixture is turned on,
•
Keep flammable materials away from any lit bulb.

Phillips Screwdriver, Level, Stud Finder
Pre-assembly:
•
Remove all parts and hardware from box along with any plastic protective packaging.
•
Do not discard any contents until assembly is complete to avoid accidentally discarding small parts or
hardware.
Assembly Instructions:
1. Hold the provided paper mounting template (K) level at a desired location on a wall. Use a
level to ensure that the template is level and then use a pencil to mark the wall through the
template at each of the two dots located on the template (the locations of the keyholes). Set
the template aside. The remaining marks will be the location of the mounting hardware.
Note: If either of these two marks happens to align with a wall stud (use a stud finder to determine
this), do not use the provided anchors - they cannot penetrate wood. Either use a provided metal
screw at that particular mark or simply move the two marks (about 2 inches) to the right or the left to
avoid the stud. If you decide to use the stud mark, use the screwdriver to secure a screw directly
into the wall and stud at that mark. Rotate the screw until the screw head is about 3/8 inch from the
wall.
