Planning the Installation
Supplies
In the SN10100 box, you will find:
•
One SN10100
• One set of mounting brackets with screws. These are used for mounting a SN10100 on a 19” rack.
•
One DB-9 to RJ-45 adapter. Allows you to interface the serial port of your computer with the RJ-45 con-
sole port of the SN10100.
•
Three CAT5 Ethernet straight cables (male-male), three meters in length.
• One warranty sheet
•
One packing slip
• One SN10100 Quick Start guide
Not included with the SN10100:
•
No power cords are supplied for AC units. Two DC power cables are included with DC units.
•
A 19” equipment rack. You must use a standard 19” wide equipment rack to install the SN10100.
Procedures
To install the SmartNode 10100, follow these steps:
1.
Mount the SmartNode 10100 on an equipment rack (See “Mounting the SN10100 to a Rack” on
page 19)
2.
Connect the management interface (See “Connecting the Management Interface” on page 21)
3. Connect the VoIP ports to the network (See “Connecting to a VoIP Network” on page 21)
4.
Connect the correct interfaces to the PSTN (See “Connecting to the PSTN” on page 22)
5.
Connect to the power source (See “Connecting Power” on page 23)
