Step 4: Clamp the reed panels with the hooks fitted
along them to the outside of the metal rings: begin with
the second row from the underside of the incline. The
lowest ring serves as a support for the reed to rest on.
Tip: lay the thickest reed or makuti panels to one side for
the highest row.
For the 1.55 m palapa, cut the surplus part of the third
reed panel off if necessary.
Half panels are required for the 2 m palapas; please take
care to cut these panels in half at 40 cm.
Step 5: Place the roof cone along the outer centre ridge
of the frame, if necessary with the aid of a broomstick.
To keep the cone in place, attach it to the frame with the
ties provided for this purpose.
THE HUTS MUST BE CHECKED REGULARLY: ARE THE BOLTS FIRMLY ATTACHED, ARE THE
FRAME, THE POLE AND THE FLOOR ATTACHMENTS IN GOOD CONDITION?
(Poles made of solid wood evolve according to the climate to which they are exposed. They
can become slightly deformed or burst at the very end and their diameter may vary by a
few millimetres, but this does not detract from their sturdiness. Complaints/returns are not
