Maintenance
General Precautions
•
Do not lift the unit by the drum
•
Check that the unit is bolted firmly to the support bracket
Warning: Isolate the mains supply before commencing any maintenance to the electronics
enclosure; the external switch does not isolate the electronics
Routine Maintenance
The sensor will require routine cleaning; the frequency of cleaning is site dependent and should
be determined by observation of the sensor during the first few weeks of operation.
Typically the sensor should be cleaned once per fortnight, although on many sites once per
month is sufficient.
The sensor can be cleaned using a soft cloth; no special cleaning materials are required.
Care must be taken to ensure that no loops of cable are displaced during cleaning and the
sensor should be lowered carefully into the tank after cleaning.
Changing the Circuit Board
1.
Isolate the mains supply to the instrument; the external switch does not isolate the
circuit board.
2.
Open the main enclosure and remove the transparent cover from the inner enclosure.
Undo the two screws retaining the front panel and remove it.
3.
Pull out the four connectors located towards the bottom of the PCB; the black
connector has latches on the side, which have to be released.
4.
Remove the screws from the heatsink, and then remove the four M5 screws, which can
be found at the corners of the PCB.
Changing the Transformer
Perform the stages above to expose the transformer
Remove the transformer by undoing the two M5 screws.
When replacing the transformer ensure that the green earth wire is fastened ender one of the
screws.
