Do not over-tighten the friction adjuster. If there is too much resistance, it could be difficult to move
throttle lever or grip, which could result in an accident.
2.9 Stopping engine
NOTE:
Before stopping the engine, first let it cool off for a few minutes at idle or low speed. Stopping the engine
immediately after operating at high speed is not recommended.
PROCEDURE:
1. Push and hold the engine stop button until the engine comes to a complete stop.
NOTE:
If the outboard motor is equipped with an engine stop switch lanyard, the engine can also be stopped by
pulling the lanyard and removing the lock plate from the engine stop switch.
