Setting the rotational speed
You can infinitely adjust the speed of the switched
on power tool, depending on how far the ON/
OFF switch

is pressed in.
♦ Select a low speed for small screws or soft
materials.
♦ Select a high speed for large screws, hard
materials or removing screws.
♦ Press the ON/OFF switch
5
only lightly to
achieve a low speed.
Increasing the pressure increases the speed.
Spindle lock
When the ON/OFF switch
5
is not pressed, the
quick-release chuck
7
is locked.
This makes it possible to screw in screws even when
the battery is discharged or to use the power tool
as a screwdriver.
Adjusting the tool head
You can set the quick-release chuck
7
into 5
different angular positions.
♦ Press the release button

and swivel the
quick-release chuck

to the desired position.
♦ Then let go of the release button

again.
♦ Before use, check whether the quick-release
chuck

is locked in the respective angular
position.

Tips and tricks
Tip! How to do things correctly.
♦ Before operating the appliance, check whether
the screw or drill bit is correctly positioned, i.e.
centred in the drill chuck.
♦ Screw bits are labelled according to their
dimensions and their shape. If you are uncer-
tain, always check first whether the bit fits tightly
in the screw head without any play.
Torque
♦ Smaller screws/bits can be damaged if you set
the torque or rotational speed too high.
Hard screw joints (in metal)
♦ Particularly high torques occur, e.g. in metal
screw joints when using drive sockets. Select
a low rotational speed.
Soft screw joints (e.g. in soft wood)
♦ Here, too, use a low speed to avoid damaging
the wood surface when it comes into contact
with the metal screw head. Use a countersink.
When drilling in wood, metal and other
materials, observe the following:
♦ Use a high speed for drill bits with a small diam-
eter and a low speed for drill bits with
a large diameter.
♦ Select a low speed for hard materials and a
high speed for soft materials.
♦ Secure or fasten the workpiece in a clamp or
vice (if possible).
