· Do not operate the device if it is damp and do
not use it in a damp environment.
· If you use the device outdoors, always connect
it through a residual current device with a
maximum trip current of 30 mA. If using an ex-
tension lead, always use one that is approved
for outdoor use.
· Always keep the mains lead out of the operat-
ing area and run it away from the rear of the
device.
To avoid the danger of injury:

Do not touch the heated
soldering tip. You could suffer burn injuries.
· Before carrying out any work on the device
itself, for example, changing the soldering tip,
always pull the plug out of the mains socket
and allow the device to cool.

Always wear protective glasses
when using the device. In
addition, it is recommended that you wear protec-
tive gloves, a face mask and a protective apron.
· Before use, always check the device, mains
lead and plug for any damage. If any parts are
damaged, have them fixed or replaced at a
specialist repair centre only.
· Ensure that no vapours that may be hazardous
to health can accumulate when working with
the device for long periods. Always provide
adequate ventilation of your working area.
· Switch on the device each time before you
bring it into contact with the materials to be
soldered.
Using the device safely:
